Key Accomplishments

·          Project managed the coordination of multiple networks (classified and non-classified) over WAN/LAN terrestrial and via satellite. Over 41 SATCOM sites designed, logistically delivered/setup and maintained on time in a war zone.

Supports operations & delivers field digital infrastructure project's on agreed costs & timescales. Manage & deliver multiple projects with a deep understanding of fibre, structured cabling, data centre passive infrastructure, WAN & general networking while having an overall understanding of telco services & technologies.
Manage projects that includes implementation of fibre and structured cabling. Participate in RFP bid evaluations. Calculate cost for equipment/implementation based on contractual pricing.  Manage project metrics and timelines to ensure all segments are in on time and on budget. Participate in designing local area networks. Field manage support teams to maintain Data Centre & remote site telco cabins passive infrastructure.  Maintains the integrity of the network. Country Manager-Kuwait and Afghanistan              2009 - 2011

·          Communications manager for LOGCAP IV providing global networks via satellite to primary customer—DynCorp International and Department of Defense.

·          Responsible for migration of network and subscribers from Kellogg, Brown and Root to DynCorp Intl.  Managed team of specialists to transition full network operations ahead of schedule.

·          Worked with sub contractors such as Honeywell and CH2M Hill to avoid costly delays to project.

·          Responsible for the commissioning and integration of new SATCOM systems and integrating existing WLAN/LAN infrastructures to our DMarc.

·          Overall project planning included business plans and schedules. Working with our NOC and corporate business associates, was able to turn systems up in parallel with multiple sites, saving time and resources.

Midwest Project Manager                                                                                                                2007 - 2009

·          Managed an average of 40 SONET fiber rings for major customers such as Allstate, Goldman Sachs, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, HSBC, First Data Corp, Kirkland & Ellis, and Mercy Medical. Also project managed up to 60 fiber optic transport system upgrades projects for capacity.  Project milestones include: Initial Project Kickoff, Engineering, Site Surveys, System Planning, Funding with Planning Dept, Equipment order and Shipment with the Logistics, Engineering Install Specs, Technician Equipment Installation, System Test, As Built Recorded in Inventory System, Telemetry/Alarming for NOC and Circuit Provisioning.

·          Worked closely with vendors: Nortel, Fujitsu, Cisco, TelLabs DXC, Alcatel, and ANDA/Overtures for Ethernet, UMTS/GSM/GRPS and related cellular support products.

·          Submitted project budgets in SAP and monitored budgets as projects progress

·          Responsible for managing ring diversity and capacity expansions for Verizon Business nodes, collocations and POPs.  (GigE, DWDM, OADM, ROADM – OC192, OC48, OC12, OC3).   GSM networks provided last mile capacity in some instances where areas of build out were impossible to structure.

·          Direct engineering support for Technical & Management Support Office (TMSO), Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) and Business Transformation Agency (BTA).

·          Developed, tracked and assisted in engineering of network design at Tier 0 level.

·          Senior coordinator of Global Infrastructure. Work with AIMs and PMs globally to insure all segments of networks are in place and correctly configured within Telcordia specifications. Maintain budget spending and timeline procurement within company guidelines.

Program Manager, Wireless Division

·          Participated in the original planning and deployment of wireless networks within XO Communications. Established and maintained RF Engineering processes and apply these processes to their tasks of performing RF engineering in support of the LMDS deployment.

·          Evaluated Nortel Networks for Point to Point/Point to Multi-Point networks  used as last mile capacity for inter-city reach, thus extending customer based reliability and quick availability to multiple ring networks.

·          Set up UMTS/GSM networks for last mile connectivity as well as closed area networks.

Sr. Routing Design Engineer

·          Project manage scheduling and implementation of NDOs. Implement long distance translations on the XO’s switches (NORTEL DMS-250) nationwide, including building and maintaining all related trunking tables in the switches.

·          Create Network Design Orders (NDO-CDRs) for the XO Communications Long Distance network, including detailed routing schemes for FGDs, IMTs, LECs, IXCs, and International Carriers at each NEXTLINK market and the nationwide inter-regional network via back end system developed by me. After completion, network savings of over 1 million dollars per month per switch (52 switches in network) and continued to grow with monthly updates. Coordinate translation implementation activities with site switch managers and technicians. Maintain detailed and accurate record of all changes. Take a leadership role in defining requirements, specification design, and overseeing the development of an automated route design tool and translations system. Interface with BellCore’s LERG (Telcordia Technologies) to obtain and manipulate the information available related to number assignments and the North American Dial Plan and International Dial Plan. Create initial routing designs for new switch launches and communicate details to internal groups and external vendors for implementation.

·          Design routing rules and tiered scheme for national IMT network. Provide translations support for new circuit orders originating from the National Network Traffic Engineering group through methodologies developed in MS Access. The MS Access system was developed by me utilizing tables, queries and SQL development. This system was to be an interim fix while XO researched and purchased a system to do this work. It is to this day, still being used to create, implement and analyze data to and from network switches across the company’s network nationally. Perform traffic and routing verifications for newly implemented routes. Worked as a liaison to track Long Distance carrier rates to be utilized as backup for our network. Working with the LECs, CLECs and RBOCs to create a stable network nationally was just one of the major efforts on my part.
